description abstract Traffic congestion is becoming a serious problem in various cities. Congestion will be reduced if UrbanPublic Transport (AUP) becomes the people's first choice when traveling. Therefore understanding of the factors most considered by the community in the use of AUP is important to be investigated. The purpose of this study is to analyze the weight of the influence of variables that determine the use of AUP by taking cases on the Trans Jogja Bus (BTJ). The analysis was performed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Five factors / criteria were chosen namely travel costs, waiting time, travel time, comfort, and safety (Lon and Higashi 2012). Data obtained by conducting interviews / distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents. Based on the results of the study found that the factors that most influence community interest in using BTJ in a row are waiting time with a percentage of 25.82%, travel time 24.31%, safety 21.30%, comfort 19.24%, and last is the travel cost 9.33%. Thus reducing waiting time is a priority program to run.
